B.Borooah College was established in the year 1943 in the name of Bholanath Barooah, a doyen of Assamese business. It grew under the shadow of World War II and as part of the nationalistic struggle against foreign rule. With the heritage that goes back to more than 70 years, B. Borooah College, one of the premier seats of higher learning contributed significantly to the academic and cultural life of the entire North Eastern Region in particular and the country in general. In the recent NAAC visit, B. Borooah College has been awarded with “A” grade. The College at present runs undergraduate, postgraduate and Ph.D Courses apart from Higher Secondary and different Certificate Courses. Having more than 3500 students studying in 19 undergraduate and 4 post graduate department, the college is fully equipped with digital library, sophisticated instruments, computer labs and latest GIS and Remote Sensing equipments and impressive infrastructure.
